How do I change the number key in my combination lock?
Carlton uses two types of combination locks in its different bags. They are:

  • Combination Pad Lock
  • Fixed Combination Lock

In a Fixed Combination Lock, please follow the following steps:

  1. Open the lock by using the original number, which is 0-0-0, or by using the number set by you.
  2. Press down the reset button with a tool until you hear the "click" sound.
  3. Set your combination by turning the dials (for example 8-8-8).
  4. Pull the button leftward to the open position and let the reset button slide back.

In a Combination Pad Lock, please follow the following steps:

1. Use the original combination (0-0-0 or the one
set by you) and open the shackle to open the lock.
2. Rotate the shackle 90° counterclockwise and press all the way down. Hold down and continue to turn another 90° counterclockwise.
3. Set up your own combination by turning dials.

4. Turn the shackle back as normal. Then the setting is completed.

A new combination may be set by repeating the above mentioned four steps.

Why do I need a Travel Sentry ® Approved TSA Lock?
Travel Sentry ® Approved TSA Locks are the special kinds of locks one requires for US Air Travel. These locks are useful in the following ways:

  • It is the recognized locking standard for check-in baggage to the US
  • It assists officials in inspecting baggage without breaking the lock. Each Travel Sentry ® Approved TSA lock has a special identification mark alerting the TSA that they can open the lock without destroying it. Each of these locks has a special code which is used by the TSA. It allows the TSA to open the lock and relock it after inspecting the bag.

TSA Locks have a solid brass combination lock for optimum security and can also be used as a normal lock for travel to all other countries.
